DA approved on 34 storey mixed use development Liverpool

Aware Real Estate are pleased to confirm the DA approval of Illoura Place, a major residential and commercial development investment in the Greater Western Sydney located at 148 George Street Liverpool, NSW.

The project includes the construction of a thirty-four (34) storey mixed-use development: comprising 312 apartments, six levels of basement car parking providing a total of 542 car and 29 motorcycle parking spaces; 8,000 sqm A-Grade commercial and retail tenancies.  Residents will also enjoy access to amenities including outdoor gardens, swimming pool, gymnasium, lounges and quality end of trip facilities.

This project is developed in partnership with Altis Property partners. A significant number of the apartments will form part of Aware Real Estate’s Essential Worker Housing program.

Essential workers include teachers, nurses, aged care and disability support workers, police, emergency services workers and childcare employees. Liverpool Hospital is a teaching hospital and the largest in NSW, and its services are to expand following a $740 million refurbishment

Liverpool’s population is young, educated and a high proportion (20% of workers) are employed in the health and knowledge sectors. The project is located only 250 metres from the Liverpool hospital, and is also close to Liverpool TAFE, three university campuses, Liverpool Westfield, and the Liverpool railway station.

Aware Real Estate CEO Michelle McNally said the new development would provide much needed affordable housing for essential workers in the Western Sydney region, while also supporting jobs through critical retail and commercial services.

“Our focus is on developing sites that are close to important urban infrastructure like hospitals, schools and transport, delivering quality, risk adjusted returns for Aware Super’s 1.1 million members,” Ms McNally said.
