Aware Real Estate is pleased to announce two new members to its Board of Directors which will help lead its ambition in building a $7 billion quality property portfolio in Australian living, industrial, office and mixed-use property over the next 5 years.
In welcoming Gabrielle Bell and Alek Misev to the Leadership team, Aware Real Estate CEO Michelle McNally said their appointments will bolster the Board’s existing deep investment experience and strategic insight.
They began their positions on 31st October 2022.
Ms McNally said Mr Misev’s extensive and highly-regarded experience in finance and property investment management would be significantly impactful.
Mr Misev is the Senior Portfolio Manager – Property at Aware Super where he leads the property team and holds responsibility for the $150 billion Fund’s property domestic and global strategy across North America, Asia, Continental Europe and the UK.
Mr Misev said: “I’m excited to bring my investment expertise to the Board to further nurture Aware Real Estate’s growth and extend its leadership position across emerging asset classes such as Affordable housing, as well as extracting additional alpha through its active management strategies.”
Ms McNally also highlighted Gabrielle’s expertise as a highly-skilled corporate lawyer and former non-Executive Director of Aware Super, who will add a wide range of corporate governance, legal and risk management experience to the team.
Ms Bell said it was an exciting time to be joining the Board.
“Aware Real Estate has a clear strategy to grow its investment portfolio and I look forward to working across the platform to continue to develop its governance and risk management practices,” Ms Bell said.
Ms Bell and Mr Misev replace Director Damien Webb, who is Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Aware Super.
