Crosspoint breaks ground, marking a major milestone for Western Sydney

Construction has officially commenced on Crosspoint, Aware Real Estate’s $139 million industrial and logistics estate in the heart of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, marking another significant milestone in the delivery of Australia’s newest economic precinct.

The project was officially launched by The Hon Prue Car MP, Deputy Premier and Minister for Western Sydney, alongside Mayor Todd Carney, representatives from Aware Real Estate, Barings and project partners, with a Welcome to Country by Uncle Colin and Uncle Graeme, recognising the cultural significance of the land and the future opportunities the development will create for the region.

Owned by Aware Real Estate, developed in partnership with Barings and backed by Aware Super, Crosspoint will deliver 70,000sqm of premium industrial and logistics space across seven buildings at the prominent intersection of Elizabeth Drive and The Northern Road. Positioned alongside Western Sydney International Airport, the estate will play an important role in supporting the airport’s operation and the continued growth of one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure investments.

As the first major State Significant Development industrial community approved within the Aerotropolis, Crosspoint represents a landmark investment in Western Sydney’s future. The development is expected to create more than 600 jobs, including approximately 390 during construction and 250 ongoing roles once complete, while providing the critical logistics infrastructure required to support the region’s rapidly expanding economy.

Tracey Whitby, CEO of Aware Real Estate, said the project reflects the organisation’s long-term investment strategy.

“Crosspoint represents the type of high-quality, long-term investment we seek on behalf of Aware Super members. Located alongside one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects, the estate is well positioned to benefit from the long-term growth of Western Sydney and the increasing demand for modern industrial and logistics assets.

“We will continue to invest in resilient real estate that is designed to deliver enduring value for our members, while supporting the growth of Australia’s industrial economy through high-quality, sustainable assets.”

Designed with sustainability at its core, each building will target a 6 Star Green Star rating and incorporate rooftop solar, energy-efficient lighting, natural ventilation, rainwater harvesting and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, creating a future-focused industrial estate that supports both occupiers and the environment.

Flexible leasing opportunities ranging from 1,000sqm to 30,000sqm will cater to a broad range of industrial and logistics users seeking to establish a presence within one of Australia’s fastest-growing employment and infrastructure hubs.
